Consciousness of Connection

Image

I’ve been doing much thinking and reading about human consciousness lately. My awareness is expanding as is my intuitive understanding. I find myself doing less “longing” to connect and realizing more and more that we already are connected. We are connected by heart, by thought, by trends, by beliefs, by experience, and by design.

It is in connecting to others that we find our unique gifts and blessings meant to share. It is in seeing what others bring to the game of life that I become more and more aware of how I can help them, and they in turn help me. It may seem that we are all walking around with our own existence, and as some say, starring in our own life movie. But in reality, it’s just one movie. We share some scenes. We share the spotlight but it’s all meant to bring each and every one of us closer together. And … closer to Divinity – by whatever name you use to define God.

I invite you to share your gifts more freely. Show the world the mighty gift you carry inside your heart. I invite you to partake more fully in the exchange of energy and love. I cheer you on as you change your corner of the world and acknowledge that you also change my corner of the world, because together we make a difference to each other.

Blessing and love to you my fellow wanderers!

Everyday, ordinary people …

I’m inspired these days by stories I read and hear about from “everyday, ordinary people.” Here’s a recent example.

400138_10200236110682680_720733537_nI for one love things that harken back to times gone by. I love antiques, Victorian houses and items of beauty, and things that fill my home with a sense of unique and cozy style. Because of that I have a collection of Tiffany inspired lamps. My favorites have come from ShopNBC who has a line called “Style at Home by Margie.”  Margie Commerford travels the world for her company  River of Goods in order to offer these beauties. No, this isn’t a commercial for them, but it is part of the story. I’m winding my way there. 🙂

Well Margie has many fans of her company (River of Goods) and her items. One fan even created a Facebook page called “I love my Margie home”. I’m of course a member of that group. Recently someone posted a video about a one of Margie’s employees who recognized one of their lamps from a story about the flooding from superstorm Sandy. The owner said the beautiful lamps lit her soul and made her house a home. That home is now destroyed. The employee, Marco, was so moved he went to his company, River of Goods, to see what they could do. The video was a news clip and interview showing Marco, and the CEO talking about how they donated Tiffany style lamps to the first responders, as well as the family who lost the lamp in the superstorm that had originally caught his attention. Here’s the video clip.

That story, a simple story of one man who recognized his product as a regretted loss by someone who’s only wish was to get their home back, truly touched me. We sometimes get caught up in the illusion that we have to change the whole world in order to make a difference. But the reality is, each and every one of us has something to give. We have some way to recognize need or pain and to change the life of one, a few, or many people. We don’t always see or value how much our simple gestures touch someone else. This man gave light – beautiful, colorful light, to people he had never met. And in that moment, he gave hope. He gave compassion. He passed on the light. I’m sure, if we had a way to trace that tiny thread through the lives of those he gave to, or who heard or saw what he did, we would see the light spreading and changing the world. Thank you Margie! Thank you River of Goods and Lavina! And especially Thank You Marco for spreading your light! You have been an inspiration.

Tell me readers, how do you spread your light?

Don’t forget, for every comment you leave on my blog, I will donate 50 cents to my declared charity of the month. Spread the word, spread the love, and help me change the world. It’s free for you and fun for me! Be blessed!

Pass it on!

Today I received a really lovely note from someone who had attended my speaking engagement on Gratitude. Of course I was pleased that she had enjoyed my speech. Her words were flattering. But that wasn’t the important thing about her message. What really caught my heart was how she had “passed it on”. My speaking had inspired her to in turn speak at her church and give her own testimony. She talked about Regrets and Resolutions and had the courage to share her own story. She passed along several of my insights that had touched her. What a gift she gave – not only to those she spoke to, but to me as well.

This is exactly in line with one of the chapters in my book, MIGHTY INSPIRATION, Love Letters from God. It talks about how one action, word, or inspiration spirals and twists and move across the face of the earth because it builds and grows as it gets passed along. We almost never see the far-reaching results of the positive things we create. But they live and move well beyond our initial creation.  This is one way in which we can change the world. Nothing happens if we receive it and hold what we have. It edifies us, yes. But it stops there. It lingers temporarily and then dies with the next thing that catches our attention and focus. Now, the real change comes when we receive and then give. When we pass it on – no matter what it is – it grows. It takes on more and more energy and spreads in multiple directions. It divides and multiplies – it does not diminish, when we pass it on.

I was thrilled to hear from her. I was delighted to see this principle in action. And I know, in the energy of spirit that more and more people are passing it on even now.

What are you passing on these days? Whatever it is, may it be a positive change in our world … and may you be blessed!
